Colophon
What is on the shelf, and what is not.
Included
Whiskies that have been produced for sale: Scotch single malt, blended whisky, and grain, Irish whiskey, Japanese whisky, Bourbon, rye, Canadian whisky, and whisky from the rest of the world. This volume holds 3,333 records. The well-known bottles are written out by hand. The rest are commercial expressions and independent-bottler series — Gordon & MacPhail, Signatory, Cadenhead’s, and the like — one record for the series, not one invented cask number, plus further bottles filed with a product photograph. Supermarket own-brands are excluded. This is not every cask ever filled.
Excluded
Supermarket own-brands and grocery private labels are left out, however drinkable they may be. That means no Tesco Finest, no Aldi, no Lidl, no Kirkland, and no similar house brands. The line is the label on the bottle, not the price.
Values
Every figure is an approximate range, drawn from public retail bands and reported secondary-market chatter. It is not an offer, a bid, or an appraisal. Auction results for the rarest bottles move with condition, tax, and who is in the room. A number on this site is a way to sort the shelf, not a price you can rely on.
Portraits and links
Every bottle has its own studio portrait. The glass is rendered; the words on the label are this listing’s name, distillery, age, and strength. It is not a photograph of the bottled product, and it is not a shared picture of a different expression. “Find a bottle” leaves this site for a retailer search. There is no checkout here. Those links are placeholders until the owner adds affiliate tags.
